The announcement was made at Capcom’s Gamer’s Day in London that Street Fighter 4 is currently in development. All other information about Street Fighter 4 is under embargo until next week and the current release date for Street Fighter 4 is more than a year away, which hopefully means we’ll see it in time for the 2008 holiday season or more likely spring 2009 after its pushed back. We all know the release will be pushed back at least once. This is very exciting news for Streetfighter fans such as myself.
Also during the Capcom Gamers Day press event it was apparently announced that Super Street Fighter Turbo HD Remix will actually have a widescreen mode. Original music from Street Fighter 2 will be used, plus remixed versions of all those tunes. In adddition, the game will feature a spectator mode and is delayed while the team “tries to get zero lag.” It sounds a lot like the HD Remix development team is talking some cues from GGPO with the lag fixes and spectator mode that is now a GGPO feature.
