Metal Gear Solid 4 Out Now, Walmart Has No PS3 Bundles?

First off this is not about the Gunmetal Bundles. I stopped by Walmart early this morning to try to snag a 80GB Metal Gear Solid bundle and to take advantage of the bonus $100 gift card promotion they have going on. Since I read yesterday that Walmart is giving those $100 giftcards with any bluray player sold I wanted to jump on it. If I was able to get one I planned to cancel my Buy.com preorder.

Walmart had no 80GB Metal Gear Solid PS3 Bundles this morning. There was no coming soon sign or anything. They did have a few signs and a display for the 40GB for $399 with the bonus $100 gift card. I guess they are trying to get rid of those 40GB units before selling the MSG4 PS3 bundles. They also had a crap load of shiny new Metal Gear Solid 4 games. The display case was literally over flowed with them.

Yep, I went to my local WalMart righ after work (5:00 AM) and I thought for sure by the time I get there there would be a line. I made it there at 5:30 AM and not a single gamer was in sight. I only had to wait another hour and a half till they opened and by that time two more people showed up for the same reason I did. We started talking about how messed up it would be they would only get two bundles then we all thought… “NAH!! they should have at least 4 of them.” As soon as they opened we made our way to the electronics and the lady at the cashier already knew what we were there for without asking. But guess what? They only had two of them. So I jumped to the opportunity to speak and claim one of them right away and so did the next dude. The third guy had a look of disbelief on his face and almost wanted to cry.
Anyway, as I was being rung up I asked about the $100.00 gift card and she just told me it was being included automatically. SWEET! As soon as I paid for the system I went ahead and got an additional Dual Shock 3 controller and a couple of Blu Ray movies to go with my bundle. Happily I walked away and took my goodies home.
