Solid game. Flawed.
Review Score:

WET is a third person action shooter. You play as Rubi a mercenary for hire. Her first job is to rescue the son of a crime lord. The game pays homage to the B-List movies of the 70s nd actually game itself looks like a movie. During this movie small black spots appear on the screen just like it the drive-ins of back then and also many Drive-in commercials from the 70s are played during the game about all the stuff you can buy at the concession stand. This at times can be annoying. Other times the game would skip a part in the games story as if the projector at the drive-in broke down and skipped a part in a movie. When you die in the game footage will show a movie in the projector burning up.
Rubi's weapons include a sword and pistol at first. Later on you get a shotgun, machine gun and crossbows. She carries one in each hand and she can only have one kind of weapon at a time so she can’t have a pistol in one hand and a shotgun in another. In my opinion that was a mistake and a missed opportunity to ratchet up the fun factor. One of the guns automatically looks on a target and with the other you can target on another. She can lock both guns on one enemy if necessary. In terms of traversal Rubi can do dives and slides and other actions include sliding down a ladder, jumping and swinging. During these actions the game goes into slow motion and almost everything she does can be upgraded.

Most of the levels are pretty much the same in terms of enemies. Usually a level will have a mode where you have to shut doors. So enemies will not come out. These levels are best finished quickly since too many enemies out at one time will make things really complicated. You get points in these modes to level up your skills so it’s good to pick up the multiplier bonuses around the level. These will also heal your character a lot faster.
Another mode that is featured in the game is Rage Mode. It starts off with a cut scene where Rubi comes through a door and kills an enemy at close range and blood splatters over her face. Then everything turns red with some white and black colors. It is a fast paced sequence where you are scored on your kill streak so you must kill enemies fast to continue the streak. Once you pass through the door at the end of the mode everything goes back to the normal. This is the most fun part of the game.

Soundtrack is the best thing about this game. During Rage Mode some fast paced music rock music sets the mood right and fits well during the game play. thi is notable because though it is not my type of music but I found the soundtrack amazing. Particularly the song Insane by The Arkhams. I really enjoyed cutting up people to that song.
Overall the game was enjoyable but it was just seemed much too repetitive. I would recommend it if you have nothing else to play which at this time seems very unlikely. Try the demo that will give you a great feel of the game.
