According to Activision, Modern Warfare 2 has had the biggest launch in entertainment history, by selling near enough 5 million copies in one day, and that's just in the UK and North America. It's an absolutely staggering number and that first day tally is only set to grow when the numbers from the global sales start to stream in.
I don't think anyone had any doubt about the sales of this game, and in my opinion it's justified. It really is a great multiplayer experience, which is why most people have bought it anyway. The single player just takes a back seat on this one in my opinion.
