Not to be confused with Blur, Split Second is a game by Disney studios and the developers of Pure. In my opinion after having played both Blur and Spilt Second I do think that Split Second is more up my alley. Both are arcade style racers and both are aggressive racing games. The art style and car designs all relay really well that the game is a destruction derby type of deal. Your goal is to win the race but you have varied power-ups to help. You can pick up boosts, shields, and other items to give you an edge on the competition. Check the screens below and read more after the jump.

What sets Split Second apart from other racing games at E3 was that in Split Second at specific points on the track you can trigger events that change the course of the race. For example you can blow up a bridge that changes the course of the race. On one particular stage I played at E3 you are racing on an airstrip and destroying an air tower changes the course of the race and also causes a huge airplane to make an emergency landing on the track your racing on. The plane comes at you head on while racing and you have to make it around the plane. That said the game is all about excitement and intensity which is what arcade racing is all about. Split Second was fun and I look forward to seeing more of it in the coming months. I played it on the Xbox 360 though it will be available for the PS3 also. There will be online multiplayer modes. Split Second is a definite game to watch.
