Sony MDR-RF6000 review

The What

Wireless surround headphones? The last few people that came over my place and saw them sitting on the dock each said exactly that. It doesn't sound possible or that it would be a gimmick plastered all over the box just to get you to buy it. I saw some online one day and after some Google research I decided on these Sony MDR-RF6000 wireless surround Sound headphones. They cost anywhere between $200-$350 and I think they are worth every penny. Read the rest of this entry »

Game Consoles on Multiple Displays - VGA / Component

This article will show you how to connect a Wii, PS3, PS2, and Xbox 360 to an HDTV via component AND a LCD computer monitor via VGA at the same time. Both displays will show the exact same thing. The sweet thing about this setup is that you will not have to unplug or switch any wires when you want to use a particular display.

At some point you may find yourself wanting to have ALL your game consoles (PS3, XBOX 360, Wii etc.) hooked up to multiple displays at once. In my case I wanted to be able to run my game consoles on my computer LCD display in my office in addition to my HDTV in the Living room. I noticed that hardly any game websites go into ways to pimp your gaming setup so this is the first of a new series on this site about how to configure a killer gaming setup. Highbox Component to VGA Converter

You may finding yourself needing a Component to VGA converter at some point as I did. In my case I also wanted to be able to run my game consoles on my computer LCD display in addition to my HDTV.

The thought of buying VGA cables for each console sucked. Also running all the extra VGA wires and switching to VGA cables every time I want to play on the Computer LCD did not sound ideal. I had all my consoles (Xbox 360, Wii etc.) already connected to my HDTV via component cables so I set out to get a component to VGA converter so I would not have to swap component and VGA cables on each console every time I wanted to play on my computer LCD display. I searched for a converter and chose the High-Box because it also supported 480i signals which I noticed that many component to VGA converters did not. Read the rest of this entry »

Review XCM Multi-Console Component Cable Version 3

The XCM Multi-Console Component Cable Version 3 provides the ability to connect multiple consoles (PS3, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PSP, PSP Slim) to one TV or component (YPbPr input).

Essentially you can have multiple consoles connected to a TV or other device and not have to swap video/audio cables when you want to switch consoles. Please note that there are other ways to go about this and I will list a few at the end of this review. The alternatives are more expensive. Video quality is always my main concern with cables like these. Will the video quality using this multi cable stand up to using the individual stock cables that come with these machines? Read on to find out. Read the rest of this entry »
