Capcom hosted an event called "Fight Club" in NYC Thursday night in Manhattan's, SOHO district. I'll just cut to the chase and say this was one of the worst gaming events I have attended in recent memory. The event was poorly executed and they misrepresented what would be featured at the event. This Thursday night I will be in the house covering the event. So expect the same great video footage as last year. Last year's NYC Fight Club event was the first hands on with Sakura who was then just announced to be in the console versions of Street Fighter IV. Last night we attended a press event for DJ Hero. The usual free drinks and loud music. The only DJ Hero stations worth using were the ones with headphones. Thats how loud it was in there at the event. I spent a good 30+ minutes playing DJ Hero solo and with someone on guitar. Dj Hero is not easy by any means on the normal difficulty setting. Those people who were lucky enough to attend the Uncharted 2 Movie Theatre events were given an extra special treat. As well as receiving a T-Shirt and Bag, attendees were also given a free copy of the game A WEEK BEFORE RELEASE! The events were held around North America, including, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Some people just have the best luck.... more.

Last night EA and Microsoft hosted a private Madden NFL 10 event in Downtown Atlanta at the W Hotel. The drinks flowed, DJ played Hip-Hop tunes (it was clearly an urban event), and there were plenty of Xbox 360 stations set up running the upcoming Madden 10 game. The results are in and Daigo "The Beast" Umehara has won the Street Fighter IV tournament at Evo 2009 that took place last night. Justin and Daigo do have a history of epic matches though Daigo was able to beat Justin two sets to one to take the championship. Daigo stuck with Ryu and Justin used Abel for the first set and lost then switched to Balrog and also subsequently lost to Daigo's Ryu.... more.

So yeah I guess Raekwon knows whats up. He was at spotted E3 last week in the Capcom area enjoying some Marvel vs Capcom 2 action. He looks a bit confused handling that Street Fighter pad so perhaps he was doing research for the upcoming free Marvel vs Capcom 2 Mixtape that will feature his lyrical slangology. The Square Enix section of the E3 show floor had this MASSIVE screen. Think IMAX. At any given time of the day you could pass by and the seats would be filled with people watching the Square Enix game trailers over and over. It was like hypnosis.The screen was just so big, oh so bright and so crisp. Imagine seeing the new Final Fantasy game trailers on this huge vibrant screen. See below for m... more.
