Gears Of War 2 Dominates Xbox Live Last Week

Contrary to certain predictions made on our last podcast (not by yours truly), Call of Duty: World At War did NOT nominate Xbox live. Gears of War is the clear winner when it comes to unique users and Xbox Live activity for the week of November 10th. Gears of War 2 kicked ass and smashed competition. Lets see how long it rides the number 1 spot. Here are the numbers according to Xbox Live's Major Nelson:

The wait is over. The new dashboard/interface update for the Xbox 360 is live and in effect for all users with internet connectivity. If you are running your Xbox 360 on a computer monitor don't forget that now you can display a 16X10 aspect ratio over VGA or HDMI for 1440x900 or 1680x1050 resolutions. So far

So whats the verdict? What do you think?

Edge Magazine December 2008

Edge magazine is surely one of my favorite video game magazines. I highly recommend. My subscription stays current though they still haven't sent me my damn free T-shirts but that's another matter. In any case Edge magazine does publish some pretty good and detailed reviews. To get into the score breakdown nitty gritty pick one up at Borders or subscribe online. Here are the scores to help assist in your Fall game shopping plans:

General expectations for this are low which I think will be a good thing for this game. I think this may actually turn out to be fun and may take people by surprise. This sort of looks like Gears of War and Uncharted mixed together.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is an upcoming video game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. It is the sequel to 50 Cent: Bulletproof. The second player's character can be, at last count, one of three other members of the G-Unit: Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, or DJ Whoo Kid, each specializing in different combat techniques. Former G-Unit rapper Young Buck will be in the game. Check here for more info.
