In a mall a bit outside of Chicago a few days ago I stumbled on this pretty swanky Wii Kiosk. They had a bunch of Wii game stations where you could play Wii Sports, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. Brawl, and Wario Land Shake. The line was short and it seemed pretty cool.
The funny thing about this is that right around the corner literally a few feet away there was a kiosk that was selling Bootleg NES games. Funny stuff.

So this past weekend I was out of town and at a Home Depot like type store I spotted this Wii abomination. I can just see the disappointment on some poor kids face as he opens this fake Wii. It says "third generation" graphics and "16 bit". Oh my.

Is Nintendo's run coming to a halt? Probably not yet but these numbers look bad by Nintendo's current sales standards. Consider that Wii Fit sold 687,700 units when it hit stores and that Wii Play sold 282,000 units last month. The people have spoken with their wallets and this seems like a FLOP of sorts by Nintendo's typical sales averages. Wii Music has been getting bad reviews by just about every publication. Wii Music has a
metacritic score of 62.
When you consider that Wii music has been marketed pretty heavily this does not bode well for Nintendo at all. This may be a sign of negative buzz from scorned "core" games trickling down to the "casual" consumers. Its only a matter of time. Thanks for the head up C. Talon.
