Lost Planet is a game that has taunted me every time I visited a Target, BestBuy, or Walmart type store that has a video game section. The Lost Planet is published and developed by Capcom (one of my favorite game companies) so my curiosity regarding whether it's something I need to play has been there for months. Watching the review of Lost Planet on GameTrailers only confused me more. They say its fun then go on with the "but this, and but that". The game has been around $29-$39 in stores for months now. After hearing about the new Colonies version Capcom has just released at the $29.99 price point I decided to go ahead and buy it. Read the rest of this entry »

Boom Blox has been getting alot of rave reviews online. A recent review by 1up peaked my interest in Boom Blox. From what I heard and read early on the Steven Spielberg produced Boob Blox game did sound promising and not wanting to drop the $49.99 I set out to rent the game to see if it lived up to the hype. Highbox Component to VGA Converter

You may finding yourself needing a Component to VGA converter at some point as I did. In my case I also wanted to be able to run my game consoles on my computer LCD display in addition to my HDTV.

The thought of buying VGA cables for each console sucked. Also running all the extra VGA wires and switching to VGA cables every time I want to play on the Computer LCD did not sound ideal. I had all my consoles (Xbox 360, Wii etc.) already connected to my HDTV via component cables so I set out to get a component to VGA converter so I would not have to swap component and VGA cables on each console every time I wanted to play on my computer LCD display. I searched for a converter and chose the High-Box because it also supported 480i signals which I noticed that many component to VGA converters did not. Read the rest of this entry »

Gizmodo: Wii Fit Review

Gizmodo is one of the sites I do frequent in my never ending and unquenchable gadget lust. They just posted a pretty thorough review of Wii Fit that you should check out if you are interested in Wii Fit.

Wii Fit will be released in the U.S. this week and is something I plan to buy to help track my personal fitness progress. I currently jog and go to the gym and it would be nice to have something at home to track my weight and BMI. Anyway here is a except (from the end) of the review: Read the rest of this entry »

Review XCM Multi-Console Component Cable Version 3

The XCM Multi-Console Component Cable Version 3 provides the ability to connect multiple consoles (PS3, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PSP, PSP Slim) to one TV or component (YPbPr input).

Essentially you can have multiple consoles connected to a TV or other device and not have to swap video/audio cables when you want to switch consoles. Please note that there are other ways to go about this and I will list a few at the end of this review. The alternatives are more expensive. Video quality is always my main concern with cables like these. Will the video quality using this multi cable stand up to using the individual stock cables that come with these machines? Read on to find out. Read the rest of this entry »
