Here is a video look at Blazblue on the Xbox 360. A quick look at the arcade mode, online, and replay modes. Blazblue can come across as intimidation because there is so much action and fast movement. The game is all about being agressive and rushing down your opponent. There are many tools provided in the form of mechanics to get the job done. Players who turtle and play too shy will be penalized. The online is where the game shines because it has all the modes you could want. Bottom line is that I will be playing this and its officially in the rotation of games I will be on regularly. If you give the game a chance the mechanics will open up to you pretty readily and it will all click. Hit the jump for some match video footage.
Carlos G. aka Shoo from SRK and Arcade Infinity just put me down on the results of the first Ladies of Street Fighter Tournament. The event had a good turnout and took place at Arcade Infinity. How can you go wrong with ladies and Street Fighter? You can't.
Check out the event photos and photo shoot courtesy of Karaface. Shoo and the A.I. crew did show me a good time while in town for E3, though I did get spanked repeatedly on Street Fighter IV there.
The Conduit game is a first person shooter for the Nintendo Wii. The game is good though the derivative nature the story and style of the game does detract from the amount of fun I had while playing the game. I say this because comparisons to a Halo, Half-Life, Men In Black movie, or any game in which you play as a Space Marine shooting aliens will come to mind. That is not to say the Conduit is not a good game because I do think in fact that its one of the best games on the Wii. The issue is that there are better and higher fidelity options for FPS fans on other consoles. The multiplayer is also the best on the Wii though it does have some drawbacks because of the Wii platform. Hit the jump for more video.
So I randomly came across this Wii hombrew app called USB Loader GX this past weekend and had to give it a go. To install this application you must have a Wii with the Homebrew Channel installed.
This application allows you to load Wii game .iso files from a FAT32 formatted Hard drive. So basically you can have a hard drive full of your Wii game backups and conveniently load them from a nice menu. This can be pretty helpful if you have a setup similar to my own where the Wii console is in a different room than the TV dsiplay. From the comfort of your couch you can switch games.
The sequel to the Transformers movie hits theaters later this week. The big question is whether it will deliver in a big way and live up to the hype and anticipation. This sequel really does everything better than the first movie. The fact that the main the characters did not have to be introduced in this sequel seemed to play a big part and the movie pretty much hits the ground running with action from the very beginning.
Ghostbusters is the spotlighted game this week. We also discuss Bionic Commando, Pokemon games, 2D game extinction, console disc space, metal gear news from last week.
Here is some gameplay footage from the new Ghostbusters game. Also check out this other footage that shows the games intro and the last video shows a basic tutorial on how you bust ghosts in the game.
Here is a some footage of Prototype I recorded. It should give you a peek at what the game is like and how it plays. Also below is another video I recorded later that shows some new powers unlocked and 15 more minutes of the game. In all I think that the game is fun though the controls are not as tight as say Infamous. Prototype is a solid rental for sure and not bad by any means.
